Our Breeding Pyrs

"KING"

Welcome to our East Tennessee farm! The Majestic Great Pyrenees are massive, white, fiercely protective, yet gentle Livestock Guardian Dogs. We love this breed for it's guardian abilities, loyalty, love, and grace. Pyrs can be workers and/or family pets. They are as serious about their people as they are about working. Hilltop Great Pyrs are excellent protectors of their flocks and herds whether they be children, goats(kids), pasture pigs, chickens, cattle, horses, etc.
Choosing your Guardian is an important decision, so is choosing your breeder. People often comment if AKC registration matters or not. It absolutely does! I would only trust my family and farm animals to the best LGD with instincts and abilities I can trust from a breeder who focuses on developing their incredible natural instincts. Getting to know your breeder and how they function is important. It is worth your effort to investigate. Take a trip to their Farm, find out if they raise their own breeding stock or how long they have owned them, how they care for them, and other Farm practices. Time and experience matter. We welcome visitors and questions!
King our original stud stood 31" at the shoulder, weighed 165 in his glory days, and had light badger spots on his ears. Our females, Gloria, Laura, Diana, and Priscilla (now retired from breeding), are angels and athletes. Priscilla is solid white and averaged sized. Gloria has badger markings and is a very large female. Laura is solid white and average sized. Diana is solid white with a gorgeous blocky face. Magnus, son of King, and Quill, son of Magnus, are our current studs. All are AKC registered.
The Great Pyrenees' devotion to his human family is incomparable. We are grateful for and respect these amazing animals.
We are pleased to offer our puppies and our 15 years  of experience raising Great Pyrenees to You!

Our Baby Sitters! Sometimes when the goats go out to feed, their young kids will stay behind with a Pyr. The gentle giants show their tenderness. Soon after a kid is born, one of the dogs will stay close to the baby to make sure it is fine.

We had a nanny that didn't care for her kid, so King licked him clean and keep him warm until we could take the kid into our care. That bottle-fed kid (located in the top right hand photo) was sold to a family who has many children to be a pet.

Young farm animals are not the only ones who love our Pyrs. The little girl pictured below does not have a pet and had never spent time on a farm. Soon after she arrived and was introduced, she and King became the best of friends. Priscilla was born on a farm that had a little boy. He was her first love. Now anytime a child,  comes for a visit she is in heaven!

Are Great Pyrs gentle with kids?Gentle, yes, but all of our Great Pyrenees are intensely protective. Not only do they defend against animal and human intruders, but Priscilla and her son Quill watch the sky and alert us and the other dogs of any hawks or buzzards. They take their duty to patrol the territory seriously.

Beautiful Priscilla 2 1/2 years old watching the sky.

Laura....incredible in every way!

We have so much appreciation for Laura's nurturing demeanor!! Excellent mother of large litters.

Excellent Guardian as well!

Diana the Beauty!
She is a great guardian, lives on affection, and is breathtakingly beautiful!

Addicted to belly rubs!

Miss Georgiana is an Excellent guardian. She takes her role of protecting our home/her territory very seriously. And what a BEAUTY! She is a knock out, and has the softest coat we have ever felt in a Pyr. This pic is of her with her first litter. She loves to be a mama! We are so proud of her.
*Sadly our Angel Georgiana passed away Veterans Day 2019. She was killed by a black bear while protecting her home. The bear struck her damaging her spine. We love her, honor her, and will always miss her. She was a true Guardian!❤

Glorious Gloria- She has a hilarious personality, and is a sweetheart. She is a good guardian, but more of a people lover and pack member, so she does less work. People love her for her SIZE 150 lbs. Gloria is HUGE!!!
(Jan 2021 During an emergency C section Gloria was spayed. Our hearts are broken for the loss of the puppies and future generations from this amazing Pyr. She will enjoy early retirement in Great Pyr luxury.)

Gloria's version of retirement!

King Magnus and his sire King
Magnus means Great! The name became  very popular in Scandinavia after the reign of King Magnus I.
Our Magnus is named for his father, Hansen's Hilltop Guardian King. The 1st Great King of the Hilltop. He was the heart and soul of our operation, and Great Pyr perfection.
Magnus is a serious guardian who intensely protects his herd of varied livestock and dogs. He is a Mama's boy too which I love!

Guardian Supreme!!!

Our Quill, what an athlete!!! He is the son of Magnus and Priscilla. He is tall and long, works nonstop and lives for it, guards the sky for aerial predators and is a complete goofball!

Toys...no way! Bone, Na....5 gallon bucket please! He loves it!!!

King Bruno (Retired), is the son of King and Priscilla. This big boy looks just like King and has a sweet and loving temperament. He prefers to guard people and the front porch.

Memphis and her babies. Memphis is the mother of Magnus.
(Memphis is retired now and living out her senior years happily as a Grandma)
She Passed Away 2019

It all started with two!

  1. Hi, I was wondering if you had any puppies left? We would love a girl! We need her to be a loving therapy dog for my daughter. She is 16 and is currently trying to find a diagnosis. She needs a lot of love and cuddles.I also have a 8 year old who is super energetic who would love to have a playmate. That will play dress up. We have two indoor cats, a persian, Febe, and a ragdoll, Ferb. They are spoiled rotten. They love my mother in laws dog. So they are good with dogs so I would need this puppy to be good around kitties and lots of cuddles. Thanks. :)

    1. Hi Natalie,
Thank you for contacting us! Our dogs make great companions and therapy dogs, especially the males. One of the wonderful things about our Great Pyrs is that they love to make their owners happy and love to serve no matter where they live...farm, back yard, or family home. They work well the autism, mobility issues, and hyper activity to name a few. I will contact you about puppy availability.
